Probably
the most coveted of the four primary objects. Especially since
the 9-11 tragedy building security has become extremely complex.
In the early days of BASE the pioneers could typically walk
into any tall building and gain immediate access to the roof.
In
today's world, security guards, security cameras, complex
electronic locks and door alarms are just some of the obstacles
a BASE jumper has to overcome to gain access to a building.
Also the fear of prosecution looms ominously since BASE jumpers
are typically prosecuted by over zealous state agencies. Charges
range from criminal trespassing to reckless endangerment.
This
company and others continue to pursue "legal" demonstration
BASE jumps from some of Americas most amazing structures but
are continually frustrated by legal/liability concerns of
hosting agencies.
